Use Less Hardware Acceleration
If you are having problems with the performance of Photoshop, and it's lagging when you are using brush tools you can adjust the performance to the needs of your workflow.

1. Go to Edit > Preferences > Performance.
2. Under Graphics Processor Settings, go to Advanced Settings.
3. Change the Drawing Mode to Basic.
4. Now Restart Photoshop to allow changes to be applied.
